Client Case Study: Global Disaster Preparedness Center
Background
The Global Disaster Preparedness Center (GDPC) is an international reference center created to build a global community for disaster preparedness innovation and learning. The center is supported by The American Red Cross and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and seeks to prepare communities, businesses and local governments for hazards.
The Global Disaster Preparedness Center (GDPC) has developed many innovative and scalable tools that enhance preparedness for individuals, youth, and communities worldwide. One of the innovative tools available to all people is the Universal App Program.
The Universal App Program (UAP) provides cutting-edge mobile app technology free of charge to National Societies to build first aid awareness by offering high-quality apps to the public in their countries. The program combines two tools: First Aid app and Hazard app, which are designed to provide efficient and cost-effective access to mobile applications to reach a growing number of people with important life - saving information.
Action
Project Good Work had the opportunity to work on the development of the marketing toolkit for the Universal App Program. Toolkits are designed to be used by Red Cross and Red Crescent National Societies or other implementing partners within the countries they serve.
The project consisted of three main components:

Results
The goal of the marketing toolkit was to help regional Red Cross and Red Crescent Nation Societies have a process in place that would show them effective ways to market the applications to their local communities and to increase usage to help community members in need.
